Card Challenges

Howdy. Below is pics of the card I am entering into a challenge they are having this week.
This is the 2nd challenge I have entered to date. Before I am done believe me that number will change.
I used a stamp I recently bought from them that was enclosed in a grab bag I bought from their store
http://www.smearedink.com/ I just love the style of their images. I am so glad that I found them.
Dont get me wrong the frilly pretty flowers and lil girly stuff is nice to play with too but this kind is dearer to my heart and closer to my personality. I just love them.
But anyway get to the point of this post anyway.
I stamped the image onto neenah (sorry neenah but I was out of blend-it) which I have grown to love very well with the markers I use. Yes copics. Who isnt using them now adays, right?
I have to say they are awesome.
Then I pulled out my lighter and went to town. lighting something besides a cig for a change.
I cinged the card as well as the flower and the image I stamped. I put the flame to it all.
Thats about it I guess.
I will learn better ways to explain my creations as time goes on I'm sure.

TOday is a gloomy overcast sky day around here today.
So I am just looking around all of the blogs I follow and seeing whats going on and what new stuff is out there.
I went to Crissy's Crafts and she is having a giveaway on her blog.
300th follower giveaway. She is giving away a beautiful burlap tote bag which I am sure that she made herself. (Most likely). She has awesome tutorials on her site.
I cant wait to make the aluminum can jewelry and also the flowers.
I drink mostly bottles but have been stocking up on cans just so I can do those 2 crafts.

Getting hang of this blogging thing

Well I did at least today learn how to post to the blog the easy way. I had (what few posts) been posting by adding a gadget. At least I believe that is the way I have what goodies I do have on here.
I have been reading alot of crafting blogs. Should I say that is the only blogs that I read.
I am entering a swap from the crafters digital art site from priscilla's group.
I have my first set of cards finished and will be mailing them off soon.
Been scoping out alot of digital stamp sites lately. Boy there sure is alot of them out there now.
I really enjoy the smeared ink digi's and rubber stamps.
I've always liked the different and unusual.
I will post a pic of them after everyone has gotten there cards.
Dont want to ruin the surprise of seeing them in person for the first time.
At least I would rather see them fresh out of the mailbox.

One more thing on card below.

I wanted to mention that this is the christmas card that I sent to a friend of mine. We have been friends for about 20 some years now. He has been a great caring and giving friend.
This card is the one that I entered into the Scrap and Stamp share your card to lift someone up make them smile and B a Blessing.
This is the 2nd time I have ever entered a card into a contest.
So wish me luck. I think it is so fun to enter card contests and to see everyone else's cards.

Christmas Card I made for a friend of mine.

I wanted to make this card a little different than the traditional snowy, santa, angels, jingle bells card. I did throw the christmas word in there and the sheet music for the background.
After all we have lost the true meaning of christmas through out the years. Is it really all about santa, snowmen, jingle bells?

I also wanted to post one last picture. This is and will always be my #1 best friend. Everyone who knew him lost him a few years ago. I think of him everytime I look at pic of this card. He loved indians and everything indian. So this card is dedicated to him and his memory.
He will never be forgotten.

Casket candy goodie boxes I made.

Here is a few caskets I made for halloween. I filled them with candy and gave them to a few friends of mine. I think they turned out great. I printed the template from Martha Stewarts website I do believe. lol yes I think that was where I got it. I actually ran out of black cardstock so I used white and painted them with black paint. Then I cut a skull head from a plastic gift bag I bought from walmart and wrapped some jute string around them and gave them to my friends. They loved them...

Learning this Blog world thing..

Well I started this a while back and have actually put it all on the back burner. I guess I am having more fun checking everyone else's blogs out.
I have enjoyed reading over crafters blogs and have learned quite a bit doing so.
I have entered a few sweepstakes and started a few cards for some contests but havent turned any in yet. I just get lost looking at everyone else's cards and crafts and either let the deadline go by or with all the other things going on in my life right now I just dont get the card finished to turn in. I eventually do finish them but usually after the contest is over.
I need to get a ritual going on this blog thing and post some of my crafty crafts and find my spot in the wonderful blog world.

Candy Giveaway

Well this is a new one for me. I have myspace but it gets confusing and cluttered very easy. I am going to try this one and see if it is alot easier to keep in touch with family and friends without alot of strangers putting pics and things on teh site and cluttering it up.
I just hope I can get my peeps to come and read it.
